How do I check if my antivirus is configured properly?

To check if the antivirus is properly configured, download the EICAR test file (we recommend the zip version) from http://www.eicar.com .

The EICAR test file is an innocuos test file that every antivirus recognizes as virus. It is used to test that antivirus products are configured correctly.

Note that when you download the file to your computer, it will probably be blocked by your resident antivirus. You may have to disable it temporarily.

Once you have the file, simply upload it to a DeskNow folder. You should get a security message blocking the upload. If, on the other hand, you can upload the file, then your AV is not configured correctly. In this case check the antivirus settings in Administration/Antivirus.
